Christopher J. Mancini was a man whose life overflowed with devotion — to his God, to his family, and to every friend fortunate enough to know him. Born in White Plains, New York, Chris earned the rank of Eagle Scout before graduating from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He built a career as a Network Engineer, but it was his life outside of work that truly defined him. Chris made the Rochester area his home, settling in Spencerport with his beloved wife Melissa and their son Aiden.
A faithful member of Hope Church, Chris lived with an infectious enthusiasm for the outdoors. Whether he was trimming sails aboard Glorious Day, tracking game through the woods, casting a line at dawn, or tearing across trails on his ATV, Chris embraced every adventure with a full heart and a ready grin. His favorite invitation to the people he loved was simple and irresistible: "Let's go for a sail."
This regatta is held in his honor — a celebration of the spirit, generosity, and joy Chris brought to everyone around him.

Chris believed in children. He believed in their curiosity, their courage, and their capacity to discover something bigger than themselves on the open water. He always wanted to encourage kids to get into sailing — to feel the wind, learn the ropes, and experience the freedom that comes with being out on the water.
Proceeds from the regatta fund sailing scholarships administered through the Roc City Sailing, making the sport accessible to young sailors regardless of income, ability, or background.
Funding youth sailing instruction so every child who dreams of sailing can experience the thrill of catching the wind for the first time.
Scholarships are awarded to young sailors through programs supported by the Roc City Sailing — making sailing accessible to all in the Rochester community.
Honor Chris's memory and help make the regatta a success. Every sponsorship level plays a vital role — just like every position on a racing sailboat.
